Benefits of Professional Craftsman Floor Installation

In an industry where design meets construction, it’s essential to work with a team that understands the nuances of interior decoration and quality installation. Our flooring design experts will work with you to choose the best solution for your space. From European white oak to polished concrete, we offer a complete in-house solution from design to installation.

Help Through Every Step of the Process

A new floor installation can seem daunting, and this guide will help explain the entire process.

  • Home preparation. All furniture in installation workspaces needs removal. Our teams can handle moving furniture for an additional charge.
  • Removing existing floors or covering. Next, our technicians will remove the existing floor covering and prepare the installation. We may also deliver materials like hardwood flooring early so the materials can acclimate to your home environment.
  • Appliance removal. Our team can remove toilets, turn off water and gas lines and move appliances, though we recommend hiring a professional plumber to reinstall these items.
  • Verified power sources. Our team will need to have access to electrical outlets. On more extensive projects, we may need 220v. If your home is a new construction or unoccupied, please ensure power is on for us to complete installation.

Installation

Unless otherwise specified, your designated installer will arrive between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. on your first installation day.

Our team will inspect the surface, ensure it is level, and mitigate any issues. After leveling and grinding, we will install the moisture barrier.

Depending on the material of your flooring, this process varies. We can install engineered flooring immediately, while hardwood floors require up to two weeks to acclimate to the climate of your space.

One common issue our clients experience is a popping sound on newly installed hardwood floors. This is nothing to worry about and is a natural result of the glue drying.

Finishes, Sanding, and Curing

We will attach the unfinished hardwood flooring to the plywood subfloor with nails. These require up to two weeks to acclimate to their installed position. Then our team will return to begin sanding and finishing your floors. Finishes take up to seven days to cure, though we recommend waiting several weeks before placing rugs on newly finished flooring.

With all flooring in place, cured, and installed, our team will install molding and apply paint. Please ensure the proper amount of water-based paint is available for our team.

Our installer will conduct an in-person walkthrough with you to ensure 100% satisfaction. We will collect scrap materials and discuss your options for surplus flooring storage.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between an LVP product and an SPC product?

Luxury vinyl planks (LVP) are made of compressed layers of vinyl, with a high resolution image overlaid onto them, to mimic the look of another material. Stone polymer composite (SPC) flooring is similar, in that it includes a high resolution image, overlaid onto vinyl and coated with a transparent wear layer to protect the floor from scratches, stains, fading, etc. However, the core material in SPC is a hybrid of plastic and compressed limestone powder. This makes the planks hard and rigid, rather than soft and flexible.

What are the best flooring options for a concrete substrate?
